Jabalpur

Jabalpur is one of the major and important cities in India, situated in the Mahakaushal region of the state Madhya Prodesh . Jabalpur was previously known as Jubbulpore but after indipendence  the name has been changed as Jabalpur in the year 1948. Jabalpur Cantonment is one of the largest and most important Cantonment in India and has three military manufacturing units named as ‘Gun Carriage Factory’ , ‘Vehicle Factory’ and ‘Ordinance Factory’. The city is surrounded by low rocks and green trees. Jabalpur is famous for Marbel Rock and Dhuadhar Waterfall. Tourist come here round the year.

 

To reach jabalpur by air :– Jabalpur Airport otherwise known as Dumna Airport is situated 20 k.m. far from main city.  Air India and Kingfisher Airlines are mainly connecting Jabalpur with New Delhi, Bhupal, Indore, Nagpur and Mumbai.

Jabalpur is connected by road to Varanasi, Nagpur, Bhupal, Jaipur, Raipur, Allahabad, Hydrabad,  Bangalore and many other major cities in India. Sleeper and Volvo bus service is available . Tourist may avail advance booking facility to reserve their seat in bus from booking counter.

Jabalpur is the head quarter of West Central Railway and is directly connected with Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hydrabad, Bangalore, Nagpur, Surat and many other major cities in India.

Bheda ghat:–  Bheda ghat is the most attractive tourist spot in Jabalpur for marble rock, marble gorge, boat riding and rope way. The place is situated 25 k.m. distant from city by road. Attractive natural beauty around the holy river Narmada. Hanuman temple, Narmada temple, Kapil Ashram. Very important place for  NARMADA  PARIKRAMA.

Dhuadhar:– Dhuadhar is a waterfall near Veda ghat. The beautiful waterfall is spectacular,  situated at the village named Gopalpura.

Lamheta ghat:– Saraswati Tirtha, Tilbhandeswar and Pippaleswar Mahadev. Flow of Narmada is northward here.

Gowari ghat:– Gowari ghat is an important spiritual place at the bank of Narmada. Most tourist attraction is Maha Arati of Narmada Mata at every evening. Narmada Mata temple, Gujrati Dharmashala and sree Ballabh Ashram.  Most of the parikramawasi stay here during  NARMADA  PARIKRAMA.

The other visitable places are;– Tilwada ghat, Queen Durgawati memorial museum, Bargi Dam,Madan Mahal, Balancing Rock, Radha Krishna temple complex, Tripura Sundari Mata temple, Sarada temple and many other temple, Ashram and Dharmashala. Tourist may visit Bhandhabgarh National Park ( 155 k.m. ) and Kanha National Park     (160 k.m. ) from Jabalpur. Kanha National Park is one of the biggest National Park in India created in the year 1955 , famous for it’s tiger project.

About Narmada

The Narmada , an important river of central India, rising in the Maikala range, of east – central Madhya Pradesh. Emerging on the summit of the plateau of Amarkantak on the north – eastern apex of the Satpura range in Rewa, it enters the Arabian sea below Bhuruch, after a total course of 1289 K.M. journey.
The Narmada stirs the simple rustic people to devotional fervour.
